I debated a long time about which flat iron to get - the Solia or the karmin. I chose the karmin and I am very happy with it. Before this flat iron, I have owned a Conair (horrible) and a Jilbere - I had that one for three years and liked it a lot. But, by comparison, the karmin is much better. My ends are so much softer now than they were using the other irons. Far fewer split ends. It only takes about ten minutes to straighten my hair - or less. I like the temperature control, too
