When I first took it out of the box, it seemed kind of cheap feeling, then i used it, it heats up fast, but the red light kept going off im not sure if it is supposed to do that, but it does a good job straightening. I went from the Chi to the karmin and the only bad thing about the chi would be the quality otherwise I would again by the chi mine only lasted about 2 years, i was disappointed. So i will see about the quality later on.
