I have tried about five different straighteners over the years that have all been dissatisfying one of which was a Helen of Troy, and another was a ceramic. Since none of these worked on my thick, Italian, curly, frizzy, often uncontrollable hair, I sometimes resorted to using the regular iron.
With this new karmin straightener, my hair is straighter than i have ever seen it before! i have had my hair straightened by a CHI before too, and that didnt work half as well as the karmin. The karmin also cut my straightening time down from about 3 hours to only 1 hour and 45 minutes. The size of the plates is also perfect for reaching very close to the roots, and works well for flipping the ends under for a different look.
The only thing i would advise is to not straighten your hair every day. I have only been straightening my hair once about every 2 to 3 weeks. This way, your hair can maintain its health without facing severe damage from heat. My hair is always very shiny, frizz free, and healthy looking when i use my karmin. It was definitely worth the price!
