Ceramic Curling Irons With Tourmaline

November 5, 2008 by tracy · Leave a Comment

For quite some time curling irons have come with ceramic barrels which are much healthier for the hair resulting in a great looking style that you can be proud of and with no fear of causing excess damage to your hair. Now many makers are infusing tourmaline crystals into these ceramic curling iron barrels to enhance the effects of the negative ions that are naturally part of the ceramic anyway. The tourmaline crystals increase the effect and add to the negative ions so that your hair will be much healthier styling with these curling irons than with any other models available.

Are Blow Dryers Bad For Your Hair?

October 14, 2008 by tracy · Leave a Comment

There is always a debate raging on whether the use of hair dryers is bad for your hair or not among the stylists and women who use them. But the debate never tackles the question of whether they can be good for your hair. Of course in the past there really was nothing to debate, hair dryers were really good at drying your hair out completely! But that was then and this is now. Of course those old dryers that blow air over heated coils are still bad for your hair, but modern hair dryers are not and some of the latest models can actually be good for your hair.

Ceramic hair dryers were a major step in women being able to dry their hair without actually drying out your locks and damaging them to the point of unhealthy hair. These dryers do not just use hot air to dry out those locks but use negative ions to remove that moisture in a positive way. While the latest ionic hairdryers not only dry your hair without drying it out, they use ionic technology to break the water down instead of hot air to blow it away. Plus they will infuse your hair with those negative ions leaving it potentially healthier than before you started drying your tresses.

Give It To Me Straight! Do I Need a Hair Iron?

October 8, 2008 by Elena · Leave a Comment

Do I really need a hair straightener? I mean, what do I really need one for?

These are common questions for those who have never experienced the benefits of a hair straightener. In fact, I heard these exact comments from a friend the other day who was simply not convinced that investing in a hair straightener was worthwhile. If you are struggling with the same questions, I’ll tell you the same things that I told her.

When it comes to looking your best, a hair straightener is one of the most efficient tools that you can have. Hair straightening irons are not only for the ladies with extremely curly hair that want a straight look. Not at all! This particular friend of mine has hair that is definitely not curly, but it does have a natural wave in it. Most of the time it looks a little messy because it’s neither straight nor curly.

Unless you were born with perfectly straight hair, a hair straightening iron is essential for achieving a beautiful sleek look. If you have hair like my friend’s, an iron will smooth out any kinks, or puffy spots to give you amazingly straight, gorgeous hair.

But what if I have extremely naturally curly hair? Will a hair straightener be able to tame my curls?

Absolutely! Many ladies with very naturally curly hair became discouraged with early models of hair straighteners because they simply weren’t strong enough, to straighten out their curls. They would have to go over and over their hair, damaging it in the process in order to get the look they wanted. Not anymore! Technology has changed and now there are a number of hair straighteners on the market that will tackle even the tightest curls and not only straighten the hair, but leave it looking healthy and amazing instead of damaged and frizzy.

When you’re looking for a straightener, choose one with titanium or ceramic plates and for even more effective straightening power, look for tourmaline technology which actually dries the hair from the inside out and produces a negative ion charge that closes the hair shaft, sealing in moisture to make it look and feel extremely healthy. No more frizzies!

But wearing my hair straight everyday might get boring. Is there anything else a hair straightener is good for?

Of course! Most women like to change up their style every once in a while, and you need a tool that will allow you to be versatile. A hair straightening iron can be that tool for you. You may think just by the name straightener that the only thing a hair iron is good for is straightening your hair. However, you can also create flips in your hair and even curls and waves all with the same tool. With a little practice, you create many different looks all with the same tool.

Well I have straight hair already, so I don’t need a hair straightener.

I beg to differ. Besides creating different styles with one tool, even if you have naturally straight hair, a straightener is still a very beneficial tool. The new technology that utilizes tourmaline which is a naturally occurring mineral actually helps to make your hair healthier. Tourmaline responds to heat by becoming electrically charged and emitting negatively charged ions. These negative ions smooth your hair, by closing the hair shaft. Eliminating breakage, split ends and dry frizzy looking hair. Your hair will look healthier than ever before!

It doesn’t matter what your hair type is, you can benefit from the investment in a quality hair straightener and achieve beautiful, healthy looking hair!

What Makes Ionic Hair Dryers So Good

September 18, 2008 by tracy · Leave a Comment

What exactly are ionic hair dryers? It seems everywhere you turn they are the talk of every salon and hairdressing shop with everyone discussing whether they truly benefit your hair or are just a lot of hype to sell hair dryers. Negative ions are known for their ability to break down the water that is in your hair to essentially dissolve it away, not just blast it off with lots of hot air. These same negative ions are also great for helping your hair retain its own natural moisture so that frizz will be a thing of the past once you use these units. Whether you believe in the science or not, ionic hairdryers will dry hair quicker than regular models and they are much lighter weight and easier to use in the process.

Options for Straightening Hair

September 8, 2008 by tracy · Leave a Comment

So many women want straight luxurious hair right now and the stars in Hollywood and models on the runway only encourage this by keeping the look in fashion as the in style to have. Of course if you are not born with naturally straight hair you can either get it chemically or by using hair straightening irons.

Of course the option to chemically straighten your hair will not be available if you use permanent coloring on your hair even if there is just a little at the ends left this must be gone before you can use chemical straighteners. Also those who swim in pools a lot cannot use these chemical straighteners as the chlorine in the water will have very negative effects on your hair.

If the above conditions apply to you or if you just do not want to subject your hair to those nasty chemicals then hair straightening irons are the more effective way to get that straight hair. The drawback to this method is it does not last long at all so the most cost effective way is to purchase quality salon hair straighteners and do the work yourself as opposed to going to the hair dresser every time you want your hair straightened.

You Need More Than Quality Hair Products For Healthy Hair

September 5, 2008 by tracy · Leave a Comment

If you watch shampoo commercials they make you believe that their product can make you have the most beautiful hair if you only use their brand. Of course quality hair products can help you have healthy hair but that is only part of the picture. If you have healthy hair and use styling tools, which are not good for its health, the quality products you use become useless.

Tourmaline hair dryers use gemstones rich in negative ions to not blow your hair dry with just air but break the water down to remove the moisture from your hair. These ions also bind with the positive ions in your hair to neutralize frizz and help lock in moisture.

Ceramic hair straighteners and curling irons are much better for styling your hair than inexpensive hair tools. The cheaper models usually do not have variable temperature settings and the have hot spots which can damage your hair when it is exposed to them. While ceramic heats up evenly providing and has a smooth surface so that the strands of your hair can glide smoothly through the plates and be exposed to one constant temperature. This will help your hair be more healthy and radiant especially when combined with quality hair products.

Quieter Hair Dryers

September 3, 2008 by tracy · Leave a Comment

If you have not purchased a hair dryer in the past few years you may be pleasantly surprised with just how quiet new models are compared to just a few years ago. Older hair blow dryers can easily be 80 decibels or more and this is actually very loud. Newer professional hair dryers actually use quieter motors and this has lowered the decibels considerably making it not such a noisy experience to get your hair dried. For the professional this is a blessing so that you can better converse with your client in order to help them get the look they really want.

Shopping For Just the Right Curling Iron

September 1, 2008 by tracy · Leave a Comment

There are so many types of curling irons available it can be confusing when you head out to buy one which one is best for you, your needs, and your wallet. Of course it is tempting for some women to buy a low cost drugstore curing iron, but in the long run this is never a good idea for your hair. These irons do not last as long and are not as good for your hair as the better professional based models you will find at beauty supply dealers.

Once you make the decision to purchase a professional curling iron then you need to consider what size of barrel and what features you want the curling iron to have. Of course you really cannot go wrong with the choice between a ceramic, ionic, and even a tourmaline curling iron. All of these irons are designed to help keep your hair healthy no matter how often you use them to style your hair. The bigger decision for many women will be the size of the barrel they want to purchase. Smaller barrels make smaller tighter curls while larger barrels make more wavy hair with big loose curls. For many a barrel size in the middle of the road will work out great while others want a couple of barrel sizes to get different looks and have some fun with their hairstyle.
