Plan Ahead For Great Vacation Hair

January 22, 2009 by Elena · Leave a Comment

Do you have a vacation planned? Maybe you’re trying to get away from your cold winter at home or you just need a break from every day life? Whatever your reason for getting away, that’s great! Everyone needs a vacation once in awhile, but that doesn’t mean that you don’t want your hair to look great while you’re away.

When it comes to packing your regular hair tools and styling supplies while you are on vacation, you might be overwhelmed and not really sure where to begin. If you are like a lot of women, you probably have a drawer full of styling tools and equipment and you may not want to take them all with you when you travel.

The first thing you need to decide is what you want your hair to look like while you are away. If you are going to an all inclusive beach club and are going to be spending most of your time by the pool or by the beach you probably don’t need to bother with straightening your hair or curling your hair everyday. I mean why spend precious vacation minutes styling your hair when it is only going to be ruined the minute you jump into the pool? So instead, leave the straightener behind and try a different technique. If you hair is naturally curly, go with it. In fact, the extra humidity of tropical locations will enhance your curls so pack some mouse or gel and scrunch them up.

If you don’t want your curls to become unruly, treat yourself to some new hair accessories and get some headbands, barrettes and pony tail holders to keep your hair off your face and looking stylish.

Of course, you may be traveling somewhere where you want to look great all the time. In that case, you will have to pack your hair tools. But maybe you don’t need to pack everything? Depending on how long you are going to be gone, it might be okay to only pack your hair straightener. In fact, your hair iron is the most versatile hair tool there is, so if you want straight hair one day, loose sexy curls the next day, and a sleek look with flirty flips on the ends, you can achieve all of that with only one hair tool.

Depending on where you are traveling and staying there may be a hair dryer available to you in your hotel room. But if you like knowing what type of hair dryer you are using, you should bring your own. A good travel dryer can save you a lot of time and energy drying your hair and will also fold down and fit in your suitcase easily.

Where ever you plan on escaping to this winter, you can look stylish and fantastic, it just requires a little bit of planning on your part. Remember, your hair should be a secondary consideration when you’re on holidays. Your primary concern should be having a great time and enjoying your time away.

Travel in Style

Once you have your style mastered at home, you can wake up each morning and create your perfect style without even really thinking about it. But what will you do when it comes to traveling? Do you think you’ll be able to create your style when you’re on the road without a lot of effort? For many women, the answer is no. They need to be at home with of their hair iron and blow dryer and everything at their finger tips. But just because you are traveling doesn’t mean that you cannot have beautiful hair, you just need to prepare yourself.

If you’re traveling on airplanes you must remember the latest safety rules. So you will not be able to take any gels, hairsprays or other styling liquids on the plane with you. If that’s a problem for you while you’re traveling, or you will be on some very long flights where you want to look your best, consider putting your hair in a braid, a stylish pony tail, or some other very simple and manageable style that will not need a lot of readjustment or care.

Once you arrive at your destination, your hair may experience some changes. That is because everywhere you go, the conditions will be different. There will be different temperatures, and humidity conditions to consider. For example, if you live on the dry prairies, and you travel to a tropical location, your hair will experience a big shift in humidity which means that if you have curly hair, it will have much more volume, and it may be harder for you to style initially, until you get used to the changes. Be prepared for these changes and don’t panic, you will be able to figure out how to adjust your styling techniques to account for these differences. You may even discover a cool new style for your hair.

Don’t forget that in each country, there are different voltages, which means that your hair tools may not work in other countries unless you have an adapter to help you use your tools. Sometimes the cost of these adapters can be quite high, you may want to consider buying tools in the country you are visiting if you are going to be there for awhile, or you can always readjust your style for the length of your visit.

Traveling can be a lot of fun, and a big adventure. If you feel it’s important to you and your happiness to have the exact same style everyday that you are on your holiday, then you will want to pay special attention to how you can travel with your hair styling tools safely and effectively. But another alternative would be to enjoy your holiday with a completely different style. Perhaps this means trying your hair curly while you are on holiday in a humid environment? Or maybe that means wearing your hair in braids or up styles every day?

Whatever way you decide to holiday, remember that great hair styles can happen anywhere in the world. So pack appropriately, and have fun.

Some women use their hair straightening iron perfectly and get those sleek tresses that are so popular right now on the red carpet. Sometimes the curl you put in your hair with a curling iron just does not stay very well. Maybe it is the humidity or even your hair type, but for some women the curls you create with your curling iron just do not stay very well. One simple tip if you have this problem is to try spraying your hair with your hairspray before you start to curl. For many women this extra stick before styling even begins will help your curl stay in place better. A little spray before you style with curling irons and little once you are done will go a long way to making that style stay in place.

Control Summer Humidity Frizz

July 24, 2008 by tracy · Leave a Comment

Summertime can make your hair so frizzy and untamed. Your hair shafts absorb the extra moisture in the air from the above average humidity and this creates curl in your hair, which can quickly become unwanted frizz. The best way to combat this frizz to keep your hair as naturally moist as possible so it is less susceptible to the humidity. Try and shampoo less if possible, and when styling your hair use professional grade hair tools which are safer on hair than cheap drugstore styling tools. Items such as ceramic hair straighteners and ionic blow dryers are specially designed to be easier on your hair yet highly effective at styling.
